School Groups

School groups are encouraged to contact the Warrior Run-Fort Freeland Heritage Society for customized tours of the Hower-Slote House and the Historic Warrior Run Church and cemetery.   Visiting both sites can enhance students learning of Pennsylvania and local history with information related to trades, colonial food, period clothing, the battle at Fort Freeland, forts and buildings, Indians, living on the frontier, rebuilding of the church, the cemetery history encompassing veterans of four wars and many other historical topics to collaborate with classroom studies.  Hands-on trade demonstrations can also be arranged.

Picnic tables and restrooms are situated by the Historic Warrior Run Church with ample parking at both sites for buses.

Group tours are given during fair weather because none of the buildings contain heat.

Please email info@freelandfarm.org for more information and to schedule a visit.
